Bethany Slane- Early Elementary and Family Therapist
Mrs. Bethany Aalsma-Slane has always loved horses. As a young girl she read horse book after horse book, magazine after magazine, and dreamed of someday owning one. Her dream came true on her thirteenth birthday in the form of an Arabian named Count.
Over the years, as she grew up and away from horses, obtained her Associate’s Degree in Human Services, Bachelor’s in Sociology, and Master’s in Social Work, her love for them lingered in the back of her mind. They symbolized innocence and wonder. Needing to fill that ache, she recently began showing in local Arabian horse shows with her mother-in-law and horse owner, Elizabeth Slane.
Bethany has years of experience in the human service field and has worked with many different populations including the elderly, families, children, teens, and the developmentally disabled. She holds a Limited Master’s Social Work License and currently works full time as a Home Based Therapist at Arbor Circle, specializing in children ages zero to seven and their families. Bethany has experience treating many different mental health disorders, attachment disorders, trauma, grief and loss, and family relationship problems. In addition, she holds a certification in Maternal and Child Health. Working as a therapist at Out Side In has allowed Bethany to combine her two passions, horses and people.
